My sister said to me recently...Do you know you haven't changed your status since you "ran away" for the day.....well...I decided that it is time to update!  Since that day in July, I was immersed in getting ready to send our son to college and I got a new job which has taken a lot of my time.  I am employed at our local Library in the children's section.  I decided that this job was a great fit for me since it integrated two passions of mine...children and books!  As one knows...a new job is fun and exciting but can be stressful.  I am definitely feeling the learning curve at 45.  However, I am really learning a lot about technology...I'm actually stretching myself and learning more than I would be if I were in my past teaching job...so that is a good thing.  I'm still subbing on my days off....don't want to totally detach myself from the world of education  :)

Christmas with the family.

For my birthday...Fred took me to meet The Pioneer Woman at a book signing in West Chester.  If you have never been to her site...you must look her up!Google...The Pioneer woman cooks.....before she came to the book signing...she was at QVC.  They sold 4,000 of her cookbooks in less than 5 minutes.

We had a perfect day at the Beach.  Our choice location was Indian River in DE.  The kite surfers were out and they were fun to watch.  We were also close to a marina and could walk down to see the boats come in.  It was a great day for fishing and a lot of fishermen were catching sea bass and we even saw a beautiful flounder being reeled in!  It was a little windy in the afternoon but we all decided that we would take wind over rain any day!

Yes, I proved that I still had it in me to ride the waves....even though ....little did I know within a matter of minutes I'd be eating sand with that stupid boogy board smashing me in the face!  I guess it was all worth it!  It had been a long time since I had jumped waves with my daughter!

Breakfast at Perkins and stopping for dinner at Bob Evans helped to break up the long drive.

A great day for making memories!
